Abstract:

A simple two-parameter model with a novel nearest-neighbor bond-counting scheme is developed that closely reproduces energy barriers obtained from microscopic calculations using a directional Lennard-Jones potential. We discuss the physical interpretation of our bond-counting scheme as well as results obtained with the model.
