Abstract:

In this paper a mixer based method of generating Ultra Wideband (UWB) pulses is described. By mixing two sinusoidal signals which are derived from multiplying circuits connected to the same rf-generator an adequate output signal is achieved, which simply has to pass through a gating circuit in order to be used as a UWB pulse that is compliant to the demands of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for indoor UWB systems.
