Cooperative effect in the phase transformation of triethylcyclotriboroxane.
The phase transition at -82 Deg in the title compd. was studied by x-ray diffractometry. The lattice parameters are given for the 2 phases at several temps. on either side of the transition. The transition is 1st-order. In both phases the mol. has a planar D3h symmetry. The transition involves ordering. The ordering mechanism is described in terms of cooperative interactions of the mol.
