Abstract:

Two representatives of stable but reactive bis(amino)silylenes, I (R = H 1a, Me 1b; X = -), derived from the N,N'-dineopentyl-1,2-phenylenediamido ligand RC6H3[N(CH2But)]2, were prepd. by reductive elimination from I (X = Cl) and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and for 1a by x-ray crystallog. The silylene 1a readily undergo oxidative addn. with EtOH or MeI giving I (R = H, X2 = H, OEt; I, Me).
