Abstract:

(h5-C5Me5)(CO)2FeP(SiMe3)2 and (h5-C5H5)(CO)(PPh3)FeP(SiMe3)2 (C5H5 = cyclopentadienyl) reacts with ArylPCl2 [Aryl = 2,4,6-(F3C)3C6H2, 2,6-(F3C)2C6H3] to yield the thermolabile diphosphenyl complexes (h5-C5Me5)(CO)2FeP:PAryl and (h5-C5H5)(CO)(PPh3)FeP:PAryl resp. which could not be isolated, however, their (CO)5Cr adducts were prepd. by treatment with [(Z)-cyclooctene]Cr(CO)5. Complex (h5-C5Me5)(CO)2FeP[Cr(CO)5]:PC6H2(CF3)3-2,4,6 is characterized by single-crystal x-ray diffraction anal.
