The rinsing behavior of ion exchange resins.
The rinsing of disinfectants from ion exchanger resins is more dependent on time than on vol. of water due to the necessity of diffusing the disinfectant out of the gel matrix of the resin, e.g., the diffusion coeff. of HO2Ac [79-21-0] from a gel resin is substantially smaller (4.8 * 10-8) than from a macroporous resin (3.5 * 10-7 cm2/s).
