Abstract:

A review on actions of different metals, particularly lead, on membrane currents, calcium homeostasis, and higher neuronal functions like the long-term potentiation. The actions of other metals, such as mercury, zinc, and aluminum, as well as the org. metal compds. triethyllead and methylmercury are included for purposes of comparison.
