Abstract:

A review. Miniaturization trends in the chem. lab. are discussed concerning microfluidic systems and the lab.-on-a-chip concept. The discrete analyzer Aquakem 250 is presented, which is applied for the photometric anal. of water. Further examples for the miniaturization of chem.-anal. techniques are given concerning electrophoresis. A chip is presented developed by the Merck KGaA company. It is used for the electrophoretic sepn. of ions. The analytes are upgraded by isotachophoresis (ITP) and sepd. by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). The ITP-CZE anal. of the anions in a mineral water is given as an application example for the chip.
