Zeitschriftenaufsatz / Fach: Chemie
A review on various ways by which microorganisms can interfere with man-made materials, either of natural or synthetic origin. It discusses the mechanisms involved in biocorrosion, as well as its inhibition. It presents the history of biodeterioration and describes the impact of the different microorganisms that contribute to the various mechanisms of biodeterioration, as well as the several factors influencing the growth of these microorganisms.
