Fluorine-19-phosphorus-31 J-resolved MAS NMR spectroscopy of an \"inorganic adamantane\".

The application is demonstrated of 19F-31P J-resolved spectroscopy to the mobile PF6- moiety present in KPF6. The 31P MAS NMR spectra of KPF6 recorded without 19F decoupling and with 19F multiple-pulse decoupling are shown. The resoln. in the multiple-pulse decoupled expts. was dependent upon the rotation frequency. This dependence is attributed to interplay between motional influences, cycle time of the multiple-pulse sequence, and suppression of the line-broadening effect of the 19F-19F interaction by magic-angle spinning (MAS) alone.
