Rheooptical Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectroscopy of polymers.

Simultaneous mech. and FTIR spectroscopic - so-called rheooptical - measurements for polymer deformation are discussed. The technique is discussed in terms of the application of Fourier-transform near-IR light-fiber and Raman spectroscopy. Specifically, data on the bidirectional drawing of poly(ethylene terephthalate) and the strain-induced conformational changes of poly(vinylidene fluoride) are presented.
