Abstract:

Using photoinitiation with benzophenone, sorbed on the membrane, it is possible to graft acrylic monomers such as acrylic acid and Me acrylate selectively onto the active surface of ultrafiltration membranes made from polyacrylonitrile. By this means hydrophilicity and reactivity of the membranes are modified without damage of their porous structure.
