High resolution NMR imaging of solids.

Several techniques of solid state NMR imaging are reviewed with 24 refs., with special emphasis on high-resoln. imaging capabilities. The imaging expts. in combination with magic-angle spinning are discussed, both exptl. features and results obtained with this technique. A comparison is made with other imaging techniques where either the object or the gradient is rotated. Finally, the distortion of images which occurs when in a high magnetic field is discussed. The chem. shift dispersion is not negligible with respect to the spectral shifts induced by the gradient. The Wiener filter technique can be used to eliminate the distortion.
