This lets you alter the initial velocity, mass, and angle of a frictionless inclined plane. You can control the angle of the inclined plane, the initial velocity along the plane (positive is down the plane, negative is up the plane), the mass of the object, and the initial starting height. The object will then move to the plane from its holding position on the ruler, emit a noise, and then begin its descent (or rise) along the plane. On the axes you can choose to display a variety of parameters related to the motion. The axes will automatically set the full scale limits. After setting the parameters of choice , simply press the "Do the Experiment" button and watch the frictionless object slide along the ramp! In order to understand the motion you should try to predict what the graph will look like just before you release the ball. If your guess was wrong, try to explain what did occur.
